Surviving Caramoan
6:27 PMI must admit, that Mt. Mayon trip was such a bore, but there isn’t much to see really.lol So as promised, this will certainly be more deserving of your read.
Surviving Caramoan is what I decided to call this with the TV series in mind, not that I intend to “ Outwit, Outplay, Outlast” kind of thing. But just basically exploring a place I’ve never been before. How to get there, and what to unravel during the trip. I know Google would be enough to have an idea of what the place has to offer, but I chose to save the good parts for my own amusement.
From Naga terminal, in Bicol. You can decide to take a bus, or a van for a 2 hour travel by land to the port. Then a boat ride to the island of Caramoan. Lastly, a tricycle to the Gota Village Resort.
We went on a quick trip to St. Michael Archangel Church to say a quick prayer, and make a wish being my first time to visit the church. Finally here it is!We decided to stay at the very chic Gota Village Resort. I must say the landscape and the architecture is a deserving of a two thumbs-up! Everywhere you turn is surely Instagram-worthy. The beach shore is just a few steps away from the cottages. That's some view right there, huh?lol Now, let's see what lies inside this woody little cabins. The picture above is the actual view of the cabin we got, it's like the elliptical road going to different cabins. lol So far, so good eh?
Going inside instantly gives you the feeling of warmth and welcome. It's like an ideal home you always wanted but never had. It's minimalistic, and it's got everything covered. For some reason, it also gives me chills because this reminds me of massacre/horror/suspense/thriller movie.haha
Just a few steps away is the resort's own little shore, with a nice view of the islands on the other side. The water is clean, however, you'll see quite an amount of weeds, and rocks on its shoreline. So extra careful in where you step is advisable.
The resort also offer packages for island hopping and other water activities. But due to the very unpredictable weather, we we're just able to visit great islands around the vicinity.
Talk about the real Survivor reality show, one of these cottages is a resting haven for host, Jeff Frost. As you can see, the number of cottages available are few enough to ensure exclusivity. You pretty much have the entire beach all to yourself, provided you're willing to spend more than what your budget would allow.
Getting to this peace of paradise isn't easy, you'd have to spend almost half a day of land transportation, spend some more if you want to get comfortable on the bus you'll take, plus other expenses that goes along with the travel. But, at the end of the day, the experience you'll take with you will never compare to the amount of money you spend.
And this is how I survived, Caramoan.
